Injured Torn ligament in right hand Open link
Leonard said he has a torn ligament in his right hand, and added that he must wait for the swelling to subside before returning to action. No surgery is expected. On his injury, Leonard said, "Not as bad as it sounds. I should be back soon." Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski has backed this up, saying it'll only be "a couple games" before Leonard returns, with Monday being mentioned as a possibility. And coach Gregg Popovich added earlier that "when the docs feel comfortable he (Leonard) can go and he can handle it pain-wise, I guess that's when he'll play." Pop said the torn ligament doesn't change Leonard's status as day-to-day, though he has no idea when he'lll be able to return. Leonard has been dealing with soreness in his right hand for some time now, and though X-rays on Tuesday revealed no structural damage, it's continued to cause him pain and discomfort. We'll update his status as needed, but this is obviously not good news. His continued absence will open up more minutes on the wing for Danny Green, Marco Belinelli, Manu Ginobili, and Kyle Anderson in the interim.

Out Bruised right hand Open link
Leonard has been ruled out ahead of Friday's game vs. the Blazers due to continued soreness in his bruised right hand. He had another set of X-rays taken on his hand Tuesday which revealed no fracture after he aggravated it late in Monday's loss during a layup attempt. Leonard's continued absence will open up more minutes on the wing for Danny Green, Marco Belinelli, Manu Ginobili, and Kyle Anderson, although the Spurs' depth chart is far from set with rest also a possibility for a few players in the wake of the marathon triple-overtime loss to the Grizzlies on Wednesday.

Active Bruised right hand Open link
Leonard will be active for Sunday's game vs. the Nuggets after missing the past two with a bruised right hand, though he said his hand is still a bit sore. He suffered the injury back during Tuesday's loss to the Jazz when Derrick Favors fouled him on a shot near the basket. Leonard underwent an X-ray and MRI, the results of which showed no structural damage and just a bruise. His return will take back minutes on the wing from Danny Green, Marco Belinelli, and Kyle Anderson.

Out Bruised right hand Open link
Leonard has been ruled out for Friday's game vs. the Lakers as he continues to deal with a bruised right hand. His availability going forward will be a matter of pain tolerance, according to coach Gregg Popovich, as catching and dribbling is a challenge for him presently. "Nothing is broken,” Popovich said, “but catching and dribbling is pretty much impossible. So it’s tough for him to be out there. You wouldn’t want him to get hit again." Leonard sat out Wednesday's win due to the hand injury, which he suffered during Tuesday's loss when Derrick Favors fouled him on a shot near the basket. He underwent an X-ray and MRI, the results of which showed no structural damage and just a bruise. Danny Green, Marco Belinelli, and Kyle Anderson will see extended run on the wing with Leonard still sidelined.

Questionable Bruised right hand Open link
Leonard is listed as questionable for Friday's game vs. the Lakers. He sat out Wednesday's win due to a bruised right hand, which he suffered during Tuesday's loss when Derrick Favors fouled him on a shot near the basket. Leonard underwent an X-ray and MRI, the results of which showed no structural damage and just a bruise. Danny Green, Marco Belinelli, and Kyle Anderson would see extended run on the wing should Leonard have to miss more time.

Out Bruised right hand Open link
Leonard underwent an X-ray on his bruised right hand Wednesday and will undergo an MRI on Thursday. He suffered the hand injury during Tuesday's loss when Derrick Favors fouled him on a shot near the basket. We'll continue to update Leonard's status once the results are made available, and we can only hope that the issue isn't a major one that could put his availability for Friday's contest (and beyond) into question. His absence on Wednesday will open up additional minutes on the wing for Danny Green, Marco Belinelli, Kyle Anderson, and Austin Daye.

Out Bruised right hand Open link
Leonard has been ruled out of Wednesday's game vs. the Knicks due to a bruised right hand. No further details were given, and we'll continue to update his status as it relates to his availability for Friday's contest. With Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili possibly sitting out to rest and Tony Parker still dealing with a hamstring issue, the Spurs lineup could look completely different on Wednesday. In any case, Leonard's absence will open up additional minutes on the wing for Danny Green, Marco Belinelli, Kyle Anderson, and Austin Daye.

Probable Facial laceration Open link
Leonard left Friday's game late after taking an inadvertent shot to the side of the face from Kobe Bryant. He needed five stitches to close a cut by his left eye, but was medically cleared to return to the game. He didn't return, given that it was a blowout win, but this also means he should be good-to-go for Saturday's game. "I'll fight through it," said Leonard when it came to his status vs. the Kings.
10/30/2014 12:09 PM
Active Eye infection Open link
Coach Gregg Popovich said Thursday that Leonard "is in for Friday" vs, Phoenix after missing the season opener while still recovering from his eye infection. Leonard was medically cleared to return to team activities on Tuesday and practiced over the past few days. His return to the Spurs' starting lineup will push Marco Belinelli back to the bench.
10/27/2014 6:11 PM
Out Eye infection Open link
Leonard has officially been declared out for the Spurs' season opener on Tuesday, confirming earlier suspicions from beat writers that his eye infection hasn't sufficiently cleared up. The Spurs have two days off after Tuesday, so Kawhi still could only miss the one game, but we'll keep an eye on subsequent updates. Danny Green, Marco Belinelli, and Kyle Anderson will see the surplus minutes on the wing for the Spurs while Kawhi is sidelined.
10/26/2014 2:11 PM
Doubtful Eye infection Open link
Leonard has yet to rejoin the Spurs in team practices and, according to beat writers, seems doubtful for Tuesday's opener at this point. Leonard is scheduled for another evaluation of his eye infection on Monday, after which we should have an official announcement of his status, but in the interim owners should be prepared for him to miss at least one game, with the Spurs then off until Friday. Danny Green, Marco Belinelli, and Kyle Anderson would see the surplus minutes for the Spurs in the event that Kawhi isn't cleared to play on Tuesday.
10/23/2014 4:05 PM
Questionable Eye infection Open link
Leonard was evaluated by the Spurs' eye doctor on Thursday and, while his eye infection did show some improvement, his status for the season opener still remains in question. He's scheduled for another evaluation on Monday, after which we should know his availability. Danny Green, Marco Belinelli, and Kyle Anderson would see the surplus minutes for the Spurs in the event that Kawhi isn't cleared to play on Tuesday.
10/18/2014 5:52 PM
Questionable Eye infection Open link
Leonard will be held out of Saturday's exhibition and will likely miss the remainder of the preseason due to a left eye infection. "Kawhi Leonard is still out, for 10 more days," Popovich said Saturday. "(The infection) is going back and forth between the two (eyes). It’s crazy." The infection in Leonard's right eye has spread to his left eye, and though the ailment isn't considered serious, the team is proceeding cautiously with it. He will be re-evaluated on Thursday. Given Pop's timetable of 10 days, it would seem to put Leonard's status for the season opener into question at this point. This shouldn't cost him much time beyond those 10 days, but we'll update his status accordingly as we hear more.

Injured Fractured metacarpal on right hand Open link
Previous reports were that Leonard was expected to miss a couple games beyond the All-Star break, but Spurs beat writer Jabari Young said that we shouldn't be surprised if Kawhi were able to return during the Spurs' Tuesday/Wednesday back-to-back immediately following the break. His initial timetable put him out until Feb. 26, and it's a projected return date we're sticking with until we get something more definitive. Danny Green, Marco Belinelli, Cory Joseph, and Nando de Colo will continue to fill in on the wings in his absence.

Injured Fractured metacarpal on right hand Open link
Leonard will have an X-ray on his right hand next week to determine the progress of healing, but from the sound of things, it looks like he'll miss a couple games beyond the All-Star break. Kawhi has yet to pick up a basketball since fracturing the fourth metacarpal on his right hand. His initial timetable put him out until Feb. 26, a projected return date we're sticking with for now. Danny Green, Marco Belinelli, Cory Joseph, and Nando de Colo will continue to fill in on the wings in his absence.
