Injured Fractured right wrist Open link
The Wolves announced that Martin underwent successful surgery Tuesday morning to repair a fracture in his right wrist, and that he is expected to be sidelined approximately six-to-eight weeks. The decision to opt for surgery rather than let it heal in a cast was reportedly chosen in an attempt to get him back on the court sooner than the non-surgical solution would allow. Martin suffered the fracture during the first quarter of Wednesday's win, a game where he still went on to score 37 points regardless. Corey Brewer will continue to start at the off-guard in Martin's place, with Chase Budinger and Mo Williams seeing additional run as well.

Injured Fractured right wrist Open link
Martin has elected to have surgery on Tuesday for his fractured right wrist, and the hope is that he can return to the court within six weeks. The decision to opt for surgery rather than let it heal in a cast was reportedly chosen in an attempt to get him back on the court sooner than the non-surgical solution would allow. The Timberwolves announced Friday that an MRI of Martin's right wrist revealed the fracture, an injury he suffered during the first quarter of Wednesday's win (a game where he still went on to score 37 points regardless). With both Martin and Ricky Rubio (ankle) sidelined, the majority of the backcourt minutes will fall to Mo Williams, Zach LaVine, Corey Brewer, and Chase Budinger.

Injured Fractured right wrist Open link
The Timberwolves announced Friday that an MRI of Martin's right wrist revealed a fracture, and he's out indefinitely. He suffered the injury during the first quarter of Wednesday's win, a game where he still went on to score 37 points regardless. Martin will undergo further evaluations over the next few days, after which a specific timetable for a return will be established and it will be determined whether or not he needs surgery. If surgery was recommended, then he'd be looking at around a four-to-six week timetable. With both Martin and Ricky Rubio (ankle) sidelined, the majority of the backcourt minutes will now fall to Mo Williams, Zach LaVine, Corey Brewer, and Chase Budinger.

Active Illness Open link
Martin and Corey Brewer will both be available for Wednesday's game vs. the Knicks, with Martin in the starting lineup. They were questionable coming in due to an illness, as they received IVs earlier in the day, but appear to be good to go.

Questionable Illness Open link
Martin and Corey Brewer are both questionable for Wednesday's game vs. the Knicks due to illness. Both players received IVs earlier in the day, and their statuses won't be confirmed one way or the other until closer to game time. Andrew Wiggins, Shabazz Muhammad, Chase Budinger, and Glenn Robinson III could all be pushed into heavier workloads for the depleted T-Wolves, depending on Martin and Brewer's statuses.

Active Sprained ankle Open link
Martin will be back on the active roster on Thursday for the T-Wolves after being held out of Wednesday's game to rest a sore ankle. Coach Flip Saunders said that Martin is healthy enough to play but will be brought off the bench, so Corey Brewer will get another start. It's been speculated that Martin's ankle was never much of an issue, but he was held out with the team playing three games in four nights, including the home opener on Thursday.

Out Sprained ankle Open link
Martin went through warmups but has been declared out for Wednesday's season opener. He's dealing with a sprained ankle, suffered when he stepped on Shabazz Muhammad's foot during Tuesday's practice. With three games in four nights and the T-Wolves' home opener happening on Thursday, it's not necessarily a surprise that Martin is getting the night off. Corey Brewer, Chase Budinger, and Zach LaVine are in line for more minutes vs. the Grizzlies to start the season.
10/29/2014 4:03 PM
Doubtful Sprained ankle Open link
Martin is being called a game-time decision for Wednesday's game due to an ankle sprain suffered in Tuesday's practice, with beat writer Jerry Zgoda suggesting that there is a "good chance he doesn't play," with the reason being that the team would prefer to have him ready for the team's home opener on Thursday. We'll consider him doubtful based on this update and look for specific word closer to the tip. Corey Brewer, Chase Budinger, and Zach LaVine are in line for more minutes vs. the Grizzlies if Martin does indeed miss the game.

Probable Groin/adductor strain Open link
Martin will make his preseason debut on Sunday after sitting out the majority of training camp due to a groin/adductor strain. He put in a few full practices over the past several days and his body reacted well, so he's been cleared to return to game action. Martin should be a full go for the season opener.
10/16/2014 12:35 PM
Questionable Groin/adductor strain Open link
Coach Flip Saunders said Martin has been ruled out of Friday's preseason game, but could perhaps return for Sunday's contest. Martin returned to practice on Wednesday and was a full participant, 10 days after he first suffered his groin/adductor strain. Saunders said the next step is seeing how Martin's body reacts to his first couple practices. Martin has been ramping up his activity levels slowly over the past week and it's a good sign that he was able to go 100 percent in Wednesday's session, but it makes sense to continue to monitor his status for the remainder of the preseason.

Questionable Groin/adductor strain Open link
Martin returned to practice on Wednesday and was a full participant, 10 days after he first suffered his groin/adductor strain. Coach Flip Saunders said the next step is seeing how Martin's body reacts to his first day back, and there's a chance he'll be back in the lineup for Friday's exhibition. Martin had slowly been ramping up his activity levels and it's a good sign that he went 100 percent in Wednesday's session, but it makes sense to continue to monitor his status for the remainder of the preseason.

Injured Groin/adductor strain Open link
Martin sat out of practice on Saturday as he continues to deal with a groin/adductor strain, an issue that has already caused him to miss the Wolves' first two preseason games. He was seen doing some light work on the side during practice last week as he continues to ramp up his activity, and coach Flip Saunders said he expects Martin to be able to practice some time this week. This is worth keeping an eye on over the next week or so, as we see how quickly Martin can recover and get back on the court for practice and exhibition play. There's reason to like Martin in a larger offensive role with Kevin Love no longer on the team, but he also has starkly-contrasted categorical strengths and weaknesses and hasn't exactly been an iron man during his career. Corey Brewer, Chase Budinger, Mo Williams, and Zach LaVine will continue to see additional run for however long Martin is sidelined.
